Raquel “Rock ill” Zamora was born on Akimel O’odham ancestral lands, now known as central and southern Arizona. Native from both sides of her family—Yaqui from her father’s side and Amazonian from her mother’s side—with additional Spanish and Germanic roots, she carries a diverse lineage that informs her creative and conservation work.
She graduated from the Art Institute of Dallas in 2012 with a degree in Graphic Design and soon began her career at UNIVISION INC. in Dallas, TX as a Graphic Designer and Graphic Operator. During this time, she also developed and refined her photography and videography skills.
In 2019, Raquel transitioned into acting, appearing in theater productions, commercials, and short films. Based in Dallas, Texas, she is now recognized as an Indigenous storyteller, actor, movement artist, photographer, and cinematographer. Her recent credits include “Quantum Force” (2019), “River of Blood” (2021), and “Vid Chronicles” (2022).
Raquel is also an apprentice wildlife rehabilitator, dedicating her time to learning hands-on skills in animal care, wildlife ethics, and community education. Her long-term goal is to apply these skills toward Native-led conservation, advocating for Indigenous approaches to land, wildlife, and relational stewardship.
Her personal art blends traditional and contemporary aesthetics inspired by her cultures — infused with beliefs, histories, and stories that honor Indigenous ways of life.
